Newgard Development Group is moving closer to starting vertical construction of the Gale Residences Fort Lauderdale Beach.
On April 6, crews began demolition and site work on the two-and-a-half acre parcel located in the heart of Fort Lauderdale Beach’s emerging North Beach Village. Soon, the 129-residence luxury condominium development will rise next door to the former Escape Hotel, a historic building that is being thoroughly renovated and rebranded as Gale—a familiar boutique hotel brand on South Beach.
With demolition and site work underway, Newgard is planning an official groundbreaking sometime in the next 60 days.
Sales have been brisk since the official launch a year ago. Today, the building is more than 60 percent under contract, attracting a mix of domestic and international buyers.
“Luxury residential buyers are realizing that Fort Lauderdale Beach is becoming a premier residential and hospitality destination along Florida’s coast,” said Newgard founder, president and CEO Harvey Hernandez. “The Gale is particularly getting interest from buyers who traditionally favored buying in Miami. Those buyers understand that Fort Lauderdale represents a significant value proposition, and the Gale offers them the best value and quality of life of any luxury project on the beach.”
Located just a block from the beach, Gale offers two and three-bedroom residences range from 800 to 2,100 square feet. Prices start in the $400,000s.
Buyers at the Gale are particularly attracted to the spacious open floor layouts of the residences and fantastic views. Residences are equipped with gourmet kitchens, spacious walk-in closets, floor-to-ceiling impact resistant glass, ample balcony space, dual-sink bathrooms with stone countertops, full-size washer and dryers and smart-home technology.
All owners also have the option of putting their residences in a rental pool or renting directly to end users.
